Catching up - Pt.1 "Thanksgiving"

I've heard some people grumbling (I won't mention any names here :) that I haven't blogged in a while and I do apologize for that. I have no excuse...so, let's back up and catch up a bit. Let's actually catch up A LOT!

Thanksgiving was spent in MI as usual and as usual, it was a wonderful time with family and friends! The girls had the whole week off of school, so we headed up early for an extended stay. What a great time!

Unfortunately I was TERRIBLE about taking pictures of the Thanksgiving Day festivities (where we get 2 delicious turkey dinners and LOVE IT), so I'm borrowing these from my mother-in-law (thank you Mom!).

The Gieres & Johaniks minus Sammy who was back at Grandma and Papa's napping.

Sammy loves to hold Ruthie, although it's getting a bit more difficult!

Master carver - Grandpa Barker

What's a Thanksgiving weekend without "Stick the Hat on the Turkey" (thank you dollar section at Target for providing great entertainment for the young and old!)

As tradition holds, we celebrated Hannah and Taylor's birthday over the weekend. Taylor turned 7 on 11/26 and Hannah just 13 days later...what special friends these girls have become!

Speaking of special...these two have bonded as well. :O)

More buddies...Sammy and Luke

Beauty - 7 already?!

Grandma was kind to not leave Ellie out on the headpiece gift...such cuties!

Great Grammy Smith enjoyed the evening with us.
At 97 she is still loving on her family as much as ever! We love her too!!

After dinner and cupcakes, it was time for a show...what a performance!

Next came a wrestling match between brother and sister.
I'm happy to say there was no winner or loser...just TONS of laughter and smiles!
