Christmas in Michigan

We mixed things up a bit this year and headed to MI on Christmas night, straight from Chicago. And, while it sounded like a good idea...driving with tired, crabby, hungry kids right at dinner time, proved to be not the most exciting time ever! They actually did okay (the whole hour the they slept), but certainly let us know when they were ready to get out of the car...hmmmm, around Michigan City, IN! :O)

Matt, Stacey, Luke and Taylor arrived the next afternoon for our Christmas together. Later, we picked up Grandma Smith and had a lovely evening together. As usual, Grandma Smith was just plain precious! Who would have thought that a 96 year old woman would love I Spy Bingo as much as she did! Check out the girls with their new jammies and microphones! Too fun! The only problem was that the only 2 songs that both Hannah and Taylor knew were "Away in a Manger" and "Go Tell it on the Mountain." So let's just say, we heard them A LOT! I also LOVE this shot of Matt and Ellie...it's just great of both of them! Oh, in case you can't quite read it, Sammy's shirt says, "Don't Moose With Me" hee, hee, hee! :o)

And the fun continues...

We spent the next few days soaking up our time with the family and enjoying the ups and downs of snowy MI in late Dec. The lake got scary and the sunset was AMAZING!

Sledding pictures to come....
