The Giere Girls

Life has carried on as usual since we came back from MI. Hannah is taking a gymnastics class for 3 year olds and loves it! I was able to watch through the doorway on Tues (parents are asked to wait outside so we don't distract the budding gymnasts) and watching her wait patiently in line with the others, listen to her teacher and try so hard at the exercises was so heartwarming. It's impossible to not smile when you're watching 3 year olds tumble around and hang from a big bar with their legs in a straddle! :O)

We've been in this kind of in-between stage for a few months in terms of Hannah napping or not during the day. Usually, if she naps, she doesn't want to go to bed at her normal bedtime, but if she doesn't nap, there are times when she's not so fun to be around. (but, we can put her to bed early!) I prefer the latter so that Brian and I can have a good amount of time to ourselves in the evening after both girls go to bed. However, there are some days when I know poor, little Hannah just needs some sleep. The other day, it was getting late in the afternoon, so I didn't want her to fall asleep and suggested she watch a movie on the computer while I made dinner. While she was sitting on the bar stool w/ her feet up, she put her head back and actually fell asleep!! I couldn't believe it! Don't worry, we woke her up right away so that she wouldn't fall off the chair...poor thing.

It looks staged, but it's not...she really is sleeping in these pictures!

Ellie is now truly crawling and standing up next to things. She also loves to "walk" while holding our hands and it makes her quite proud of herself. She's been eating more table foods lately too...she's particularly fond of bananas, watermelon and cheese. While eating these yummy foods, she's developed a rather messy habit of running her hands through her hair...again and again! Needless to say, her hair becomes one, slimy, sticky mess by the time she's done! Tonight I washed it out with a wash cloth after dinner and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a little fun with her hairdo. :O)

So, we bought a cottage this past weekend. Okay, it's only 4 1/2 feet high and sits in our backyard, but it's still a cottage. :O)This was our big weekend garage sale purchase...a little crazy, but I know it's going to bring the girls a ton of enjoyment and we got a great deal on it. (I've been sort of looking into something like this and found this one at a garage sale in our neighborhood and after a little bargaining w/ the seller, we took it home. :O)

(you can see our new fence in this picture...we love it and so does Gabby!! She finally has some freedom!)

T:"I hope you have fun in music class"
Aunt Stacey:"Do you mean gymnastics class, Taylor?"
T:"Oh yah, gymnastics."
That picture of Hannah falling asleep at the computer is so funny. :)
